ASSEMBLY SCHEDULE TODAY!
HUMANITIES
You Need:
Laptop
Piece of notebook paper
Warm Up:
You and your table partner create a Venn Diagram on the paper provided. Label the left circle "USA". Label the right circle "International". Together, brainstorm typical Christmas traditions in the US. Write your ideas in the left circle.
ACTIVITY -- Holiday Traditions Reading and Venn Diagram
There are TWO holiday articles attached together -- "10 Holiday Traditions from Across the World" and "9 Totally Weird Holiday Traditions". You and your partner each choose an article.
Take notes (1-2 facts per tradition) on a separate piece of paper as you read. What are the most important ideas to remember about each tradition?
You and your partner then complete the Venn Diagram together. Under "International", place the really unique features of the traditions you read about. In the center circle, list traits that are COMMON in both the US Christmas and International holidays.
